Amazing pictures of Adult protesters--hardly poor students. Hardly Adult either I would guess. I do not agree this is an embarassment to Canada--it is on the other hand exposing Quebec to the rest of the world as the problem the rest of Canada puts up with. Just like Greece --not willing to pay its way in the world. If these people being arrested are paid--who is paying them--poor students??
From organized crime controlling construction to students in the streets protesting negligible tuition hikes, this is Quebec's respect for law. Anyone remember the fury over the McLean's article about corruption in Quebec?
If someone wanted to go on strike to really make a point, it should be the cops.
having to put up with this insanity night after night for weeks and weeks is insane.
these punks, many who have never worked a day in their life, want MORE socialism?
give them their drooling anarchy to show how little they know.
Quebec has a long history of fiscal mismanagement that has led to this situation. As shown in this article, despite austerity measures being imposed by the Charest government, Quebec will still have the highest debt-to-GDP ratio among all provinces:

Graphic: How Quebec’s tuition comparescan understand protesting for real and just causes but this just doesn't add up. A couple of hundred dollars in tuition fee hikes does not warrant destruction of a city. What is behind it I wonder? The people shown being arrested don't seem to be students! Who's organizing it all. Tap into that and you'll discover the root cause.
Montreal is beginning to look like anywhere in the Middle East. I suppose travel advisories will be next. Salut Grand Prix and Jazz Fest.
