Trifonova’s second film after her impressive debut LETTER TO AMERICA (presented at the 2006 edition of the EUFF), INVESTIGATION won the Grand Prix at the Cottbus Festival in 2007. It is the story of a female investigator (played expertly by Svetlana Yancheva) trying to break down the psyche of a murder suspect. Moody and compelling, the film is a probing psychological drama not only about the suspect and the case, but also the talented and troubled investigator herself. Gripping. Named of one the year’s best films in Bulgaria in 2007 by the International Film Guide.
